Buying and Selling

Until the very last second of the end of the world, people are surely going to keep buying and selling. Commerce is a sector of the global economy that will keep growing year after year as it remains a core activity.

That is why we really should look into the commerce space and see how we can fit in. Unlike other spaces like Smartphone operating systems where there is space for a major runner (Android), a number 2 (iOS) and the others, the commerce space is BIG and has a lot of verticals.

So, are you a trader? If not, what are you waiting for? If you are already trading something, have you considered how digital tech can help you amplify it better??

Hanging on to my instincts

We need to trust our instincts everytime. At times we need to discard what everyone is saying and listen to our “guts”. Many people have claimed that this is the approach that led to their own success, ability to NOT listen to people’s opinion.

The location based check-in app, Foursquare is been converted into a place finder app. This approach includes stripping the app of everything that made it popular in the first place, their users are not pleased. They have taken their protests to Twitter and Medium, but Foursquare CEO, Dennis Crowley is unmoved.

He is sticking to his “guts” and has even predicted his company will make more money over the next 6 months than they made all of last year!

Time will tell.

Time is the ultimate decider. Things like this happen at Facebook all the time they change something, yet for all we know, Facebook is still doing well.

With time, Dennis Crowley will be hailed as a genius for sticking to his guts and doing the unreasonable or he will be crucified for not listening to what his loyal fans had to say.

For the rest of us, how far should we go trusting our own instincts over what everyone else is saying?

Everytime, certainly. You should trust your instincts everytime, unless your instincts are terrible or have not matured enough at the moment.

The best ideas dont win…

The best ideas dont win, it is the best presented ideas that win everytime.

A great architect isn’t one who draws a great plan. A great architect is the one that gets great buildings built. It is not enough to have the best ideas, you should also invest the energy needed to convince the-powers-that-be that your idea is solid and is actually useful to their own agenda.

Harsh truth; nobody cares about you or your own agenda

Master the art of selling, the better you become at selling, the faster you see your dreams coming true.

You can solve any problem

There is no such thing as an unsolvable problem. With focus and time, every problem will melt away, the only question really is whether the problem is worth the time investment.

You are a spirit…

You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live inside a body.

Our educational systems trains your soul; your soul contains your mind and emotions. The gym trains our bodies and keeps it in top shape.

But… what about our spirit? How do we train our spirit??

…that is why places like the church was invented. The church can be said to be a training ground for your spirit. So, I just gave you an extra incentive to make it to church today.

(Oh! If you are not excited about going to church to train your spirit, then you should read last week’s sunday edition of The Morebise Post)

Mark Zuckerberg Is Now Richer Than the Google Guys

I am NOT the hype kind of person, but let us learn from this, shall we?
The Facebook CEO and cofounder’s wealth has spiked in recent months as the company’s stock price continues to reach new highs. On Thursday, he reached another milestone: With a fortune worth $33.3 billion, he’s now worth more than Google cofounders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, according to Blooomberg’s Billionaires Index. Page is worth $33.2 billion. Brin’s fortune is estimated at $32.9 billion.

At No. 16 on the list, Zuckerberg is also wealthier than No. 20, Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos.
via Mashable

About 10 years ago, Mark Zuckerberg created a little website to help people connect to each other on campus. Today he has been rewarded handsomely, he is on spot #16 on a list of the richest men in the world. Who would have imagined that?

(I agree that Facebook has some real value, but as a company valued at $190 billion, I do not think it is justified. That is just my personal opinion anyway…. I will share my reasoning behind this some other time.)

The real challenge before us this morning is simple enough; what are you creating to help others? Money is merely a reward for solving problems! The main reason you go broke is because you are yet to figure out how to use your (vast) knowledge to solve a problem for people.

Regardless of the feeling…

I have observed that one of the differences between great people and mediocres is that great minds will always get the job done regardless of how they are feeling.

Self discipline means doing what needs to be done regardless of how you feel about it. That is why you ought to get the work done; send that email, make the phone call, write that blog post, meet the client today (that way, you can meet another one tomorrow).

Just get it done! That is the hallmark of great men.

Stay Connected, Stay Updated

Stay connected, stay updated; these are the 2 crucial keys everyone needs in this modern era inorder to remain relevant and become truly successful.

We need to stay updated on the latest trends in our fields of expertise and also connect with other professionals and thought leaders.

The temptation to keep to yourself, to stay inside your very own silo is high, but do not take it. Get out there and start connecting.

Well, you can start with the usual suspects: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. From there you will find more groups and movements online.

First Bank, PayPal partnership opens a great door of opportunity for everyone, hop in!

Big news: First Bank and PayPal have teamed up to create a platform by which Nigerians can now truly do business online.

The convieniece of just been able to make online payments and transfer funds across the world in 193 countries and regions globally, this is what many people have prayed for over the years.

How do you fit in?

Online payment solution might not be the final enemy to be conquered per se, but it is a major victory never the less. I expect many people to look at how they can start their online business now

  • Pay for anything online

Are you unstoppable?

Everyone who has ever amounted to anything in life has come across roadblocks. The only difference is that they never allowed the challenge to stop them.

You have to learn to be unstoppable, always willing to try another solution, another angle, take another shot.

As someone who has been repeatedly confronted with all sort of challenge, I have now got to a point where I can boldly declare that I am UNSTOPPABLE. What about you?
